DA'd myself today
by Pierced Angel inwell, i did it.. it's official and i'm relieved.. the elders wanted to try talking to me once again, but after awhile it was obvious that they were only interested in changing my thoughts not answering any questions.
so, i just calmly asked if i could disassociate myself.
they acted stunned and they got tears in their eyes, but i told them that i had already grieved and was ready to move on with life.

Do you remember this Bible passage?
by Mindchild ini barely remember a bible account that went something along these lines: some representative of god was trying to show the israelites that jehovah was the real god and challenged them to build a big sacrifice and have their god answer and consume it with fire.
when they couldn't, he began to mock them and as the story goes he prays to god and half the mountain dissappears or something like that.. sorry i couldn't be more precise but it has been a long time.
if you remember the bible chapter and verses, i would like to read it again.. skipper.

The very basis for most paganistic religions is at it's root, monotheism. This monotheism eventually gives way to 'little gods', that are mythical offspring (or demonistic) that are worshipped, leaving behind the one God, except in the case of those curious descendants of a former pagan known as Abram, who is now known as Abraham. Are you so rabidly anti-Christian that you would twist what I said or are you unaware of this? I think that you knew what I meant all along. Given the creation account, this is an obvious fact and is also why the first of the ten commandments is to "have no other god before me" (paraphrase).I am always amused at the great lengths non-believers who have no clue will go to undermine scripture.

I guess it will not acomplish anything to keep arguing with everyone. You will see it as you see it, regrardless of how stark the evidencial differences are. I grieve for you all, friends, kindred people, who did not find God on their way out.
I get too overzealous and overbearing but I swear to you, it's not for sake of winning a debate or pride. I just want you to see the other side. I want you to see the light of the son and what He has done through me. You'll find there is mystery and not all about the whys and hows can be answered. That's where faith comes in.
Listen for His voice, some dark night when you have come to the end of yourself and there is nowhere to turn for comfort. He is there for it is God will that all shall be saved (jn3.16). None have sinned too much to be forgiven (Rom.6.23). It is by grace that you are saved (Eph.2.6).Salvation is there for the asking (Rom.10.-11).
BTW, dump the NWT and get a real Bible.

I forgive you but I am done with this. I tried my best to show you my reasoning. We will just have to disagree, though I think that we have seen Muslims who ignore the basic violent example of their religious leaders are ripe for conversion to Christianity or agnosticism. Why do you think the Islamic mullahs are so dead set against modernizing their culture? They are losing adherents who become 'secret Christians'. We have evangelists that work extremely carefully and discreetly bring the Chrstian hope to Islamic peoples who are held in bondage to religious hegemony. Not unlike Catholicism of 1000 years ago, the original apostate church who gained power and absolute corruption. Then God brought the reformation.
Now we see the Catholic church has done a complete 'about face' and they have become much better for it.
Turkey is a good example (in their reaction to this present conflict) of a Islamic majority that is generally moderate.

There is no use in us trying to reach an agreement. I apologize for any sarcasm I may have used. I am not saying that most muslims are not reasonable. I am merely pointing out the inherent difference in the life and teachings of Christ opposed to the life and teachings of Mohammed. You cannot see your own lack of understanding that those who do not obey Christian principles are probably not Christian at all. Muslims are fully backed by their own writings when they resort to violence. Christians are not.
